The Ultra Grand SS downdraft workbench has a supreme hard maple top measuring 33" x 95" with a dual grid downdraft system built flush to the surface of the top and a 5" thick skirt around the perimeter of the bench. With almost 22 square feet of work surface it is as large as two standard sized workbenches. The bench comes with a heavy duty end vise and maple jaw and an equally heavy duty front vise. It has a row of dog holes on six inch centers running the full length of the bench. Sanding dust collection is not limited to the physical size of the downdraft grid. This bench offering 2550 CFM has a downdraft sanding area equivalent to that of a 40" x 78" downdraft table. Sanding dust is collected before it becomes airborne and before you can breathe it. This is a huge health benefit as can be seen by the adverse conditions caused by inhaling wood dust. When you also consider the adverse effects it has on the fine finish of your projects and the extra amount of time you spend cleaning up, doesn't it make sense to capture the dust before it becomes airborne? The dust that escapes your dust collection system should be collected as quickly as possible so that you don't spend any more time inhaling it than you have to. The WoodMark AMW downdraft workbench was designed from the beginning to function as an ambient air filtration system, rapidly filtering dust at 2550 CFM and down to 0.5 micron- The volume of air in a 20' x 25' x 8' shop can be exchanged over 38 times and hour- replacing the need for those awkward ceiling mounted units. The best choice is to incorporate this air filtering capability and a handsome high quality maple topped workbench with vises into a top notch downdraft table. All dust, of any size, is affected by gravity and sooner or later will be making its way downward, away from ceiling mounted units; and, since dust is created at waist level, doesn't it only make sense to collect it at waist level?
